I realised at the store today that the RIG is not, in fact, wireless.
And neither the Backbeat Pro or Blackwire 700 are my "thing" as far as headphones go. I like larger ear cups that fit well over my ears, rather than the tiny-cupped, on-ear style.
So I ended up buying a Voyager Legend UC because I liked the charging case and I found a decent price for it, $149 with case included.
I'll see how long I can keep up the habit of wearing the headset when I'm not wearing headphones, and I can use it to listen to podcasts too. It'll be fun to program against the Wearing Sensor for speech recognition, etc.
And I'll wait until a second-generation Beats Studio Wireless arrives from Apple, perhaps with a lightning cable and other improvements? Who knows, it's not unheard-of for Apple to offer SDKs, even if limited to just iOS/Mac.
