Hi Sangha,
I have carried out 2 test recordings, one of 5 minutes, 1 longer. These were of speech of an audio book played through a small high-quality speaker placed near the Voyager Legend boom, in the same configuration as it it were a near a person's mouth.
I set the levels to get a good continuous medium level on the Windows Recording devices mic input level indicator.
My PC spec:
Windows 7 Enterprise Service Pack 1 64-bit
Intel Core i7 @ 2.70Ghz
8GB RAM
My Voyager Legend:
BT300 dongle firmware version: 66 (Base: v.6608 / USB: v.866)
Voyager Legend firmware version: 106 (latest from http://www.plantronics.com/us/support/myheadset/updater/)
Recording 1 was done using C# NAudio version 1.6.0.0 library's NAudio.Wave.WaveIn.StartRecording() function, and was a stereo WAV of length 4:59.
The Plantronics SDK was used to bring up the Bluetooth link to headset, as discussed in my previous post above. (Audio Sensing disabled in Plantronics Hub)
Recording 2 was done using Audacity version 2.0.6 and was a mono WAV of length 12:15.
I used the headset "Talk" button to bring up the Bluetooth link to headset , as discussed in my previous post above. (Audio Sensing disabled in Plantronics Hub)
With both recordings I am not getting any pop sounds, just good smooth speech reproduction. There are no pops audibly or visible in the Audacity waveform view at any zoom factor.
Here are 2 views of the waveform in Audacity, one showing about 1:40 of the wave form, the other showing 0:14 (zoomed in):
As part of the product development and testing Plantronics routinely record audio through the headset for long periods, so I do not think there is anything wrong with the headset, Bluetooth dongle or product firmware. I can only suggest the pop sounds you experience may be resulting from:
- A misconfiguration or hardware conflict of some sort in your equipment setup.
OR - A misconfiguration in your audio recording software, perhaps in the area of input buffering, etc.
Please could you try with Audacity 2.0.6 and see if you get same result?
Also could you confirm the specifications of your PC and Operating System?
Thanks,
Lewis.
